GAME VIEWING, BIRDING The Lunga-Luswishi National Park is similar to the Kafue National Park, which lies to the south-west. Miombo woodland predominates, with open grassland and flood plain along the Kafue River. Sable, impala, waterbuck, puku, yellow-backed duiker, eland, kudu, bushbuck and hippopotamus are among the game species that visitors are likely to see. The Leopard Lodge Camp in the south is privately run, and a number of other safari companies operate in the park. Location: Central Zambia; north-west of Lusaka. Access: From Lusaka follow the main road westward to Mumbwa; from Mumbwa drive north-westwards to Lubungu Pontoon on the banks of the Kafue River. Leopard Lodge lies 3 km further north on this road. Accommodation: Leopard Lodge has 1 4-bed lodge with a bathroom, as well as 4 2-bed lodges, each with a bathroom; all provide full catering.
